Inside a little yellow one room school house, set on the edge of Gold Rush country, you sat in your desk practiced your numbers. While minding your own business, I imagine your braids would have been pulled and you would have broken your slate over that incorrigible boy’s head. He would have immediately fallen in love with you and maybe one day you would come back to teach in the same little yellow one room school house. At least that is one way the story could go…
