I’m drawn to photos of fathers and daughters. I can’t help it. I feel sometimes like the role of the father is so under appreciated. During sessions I get to witness the relationship that the dad has with his little girls and you can tell right away the caliber of the man by the way he treats his children.
You can’t pose this, you can’t make this little girl want to be in her daddy’s arms. You can’t convince her that he is a safe person and he will hold her in his shadows no matter what. This isn’t taught behavior. This behavior either is…or isn’t. And for this little one…her safe place is wherever he is.
